Seek the Lord while He may be found;
call on Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way
and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord,
and He will have mercy on him.
and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:6-9
One of the many beautiful things about God is that, despite His incredibly awesome power, He is long-suffering. While we often strike back quickly and with great anger over little infractions, God graciously allows us time to repent. He has such mercy on us that He gave His only Son to reunite us to Him. How now can we ignore so great an offer -- to be at peace with Him by seeking a forgiveness we could not earn for sins we willfully chose while He lingers silently hopeful of our return? If you want to get heaven's attention, try sincere repentance. Angels are listening.
