This Morning's Word

I'm always asking the Lord, "What about . . ." this or that. Typically, He answers by putting me in Scripture that is too accurate to be coincidence. Lately, I've been querying Him regarding those who claim the Cross invalidated their responsibility to take up the children's case.

"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge His people." It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. -- Heb 10:26-31

The law of Moses tells us that God holds us accountable for the lives of our fellowman (Gen 9:5), that we are to take action to prevent the shedding of innocent blood (Deu 19:10), that He considers guilty those who ignore the shedding of innocent blood (Exo 23:7), and that failure to hate bloodshed brings bloodshed to our own doors (Eze 35:6). Add this in Hebrews and those who do not regard the children's lives should be able to recognize the judgment at our door as witness to His unchangeable character.

He hated child sacrifice in the Old Testament and punished the Israelites for it. He hates it now. Please, Brother and Sister, take up their case. Plead for their precious lives. Today, turn back before it is too late.

God's peace.

Betty
